After asking around on the LAF regarding minis to use for the conflicts between theKingdom of Rome, and its Italic neighbours (such as Etruscans, Sabines, and the likes), I was kindly offered a sample from Aventine Miniatures, of their Etruscan range.
I do not think the photo gives these minis full credit; they are VERY nice, with hardly any flash, only a bit of mold-lines, and very, very crisp details!
I could easily see myself getting some sets of these if I go full in on early Rome - and Aventine also has a range of 'Italian Hill Tribes' (mainly Volscians), which should go along with these.
I really like how (most of) these have the 'feel' of a heavier type of Hoplite, and at the same time pointing forward to the manipular infantry of the Republican/Polybian Roman legion (and its allies).
For now, I shall paint these Etruscans up and use them as 'Auxiliary Legionaires' for a Broken Legions warband I want to create to fight the Argonauts I have on my prepping station at the moment. I am going to represent the actual legionaires by Caesarean plastic legionaires from Wargames Factory, of which I have had a box since they were issued years ago, so the 'outdated' look of the Etruscans will just add to the overall colourfulness of the warband!

Fenris Games: Runestones
I got my Fenris Games order in the mail... yesterday, I think, but I did not open it until today. I had ordered runestones Sets 1-4, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a fifth set enclosed as a freebie!
Details look crisp, as always, and I look forward to include some of these a terrain pieces in games of Blood Eagle and SAGA - and they may also appear as more sinister objects in games of, for instance, Strange Aeons.

Hasslefree: Harem Girls
I ordered these two for use as employees in the Dragon Lady's establishment. I have the Dragon Lady on the pain(t) station for the Back of Beyond Painting club at LAF at the moment (although I shall probably not find time to finish her until after Horisont VIII), and of course I also need to either buy or build the premises on which she resides, but I thought I might as well right away get a couple of girls to entertain the guests.
I got these two as freebies (apart from the flame thrower Daphne). and although somewhat in theme with the two above their equipment/attire makes them more fitting for a modern (or maybe Post-Apocalytic?) strip club, so they may have to wait quite a while for the paint brush.

Hasslefree: Meddling Teenagers
The first set consists of the four unarmed (if a Book-toting Velma can be considered unarmed, that is...) protagonists, and the centerpiece of the team, the Great Dane.
The second set consits of the same characters, buit now in a 'post-apocalyptic' mode, and armed in a manner befitting to survivors of a zombie outbreak, or the likes.
I expect to use the team when re-booting my zombiecalypse (Dead Walk Again) gaming somewhen during the coming winter/spring (along with getting some of the Versatiles urban ground tiles from Multiverse Gaming, and some buildings to go along with them.
I shall paint them in pairs, one unarmed version and one armed, like Fred below, so I can play both mystery scenarios and outright survival fests.

Winter May Come...
...I am ready for it!
Just received my last Wayland order about an hour ago, and I have have already washed and rinsed all the sprues (they are drying in the kitchen as I write this). And, in case you wonder, there is three boxes of Perry Agincourt French Infantry.
Some of the Unmarried Zulus will be used for my IHMN Impi (I can do both Blooded and Unblooded Warriors, and mix and mach parts with the Married Zulus I just recently purchased and have started assembling).
The Perry French are destined for becoming Fiefdom Warriors for my Gondor God of Battles army - mainly Dol Amroth 'pike'-men, but also Axemen of Lossarnach and the likes. I shall start assembling some in between working on my Zulus, but the main effort will have to be postponed until I have finished the Impi for IHMN.
The Arabs will, initially, be used for a Blood Eagle warband, and I shall make a Crusader warband to oppose it. Later, who knows, both may grow into forces for SAGA Crescent and the Cross, but that is beyond the horizon right now.
The Bolt Action rule book was a promotional freebie, and as I have some painted WWII models, I thought it would be nice to have, just in case...

Foundry Freebie
Always nice to get freebies, but the crossbow was so damaged, that when I tried to straighten the bent bow-part, it broke off.
If I ever (which is not likely) want to paint this model, I shall have to sculpt the right part of the bow to have a complete mini.
Well, you cannot be lucky every time...
