Vacation 2016 - Day 10, Beverages and Wellness

Another lazy day in Catalunya!

True to tradition, I tried out some local produce.

I Spain, they understand the need for volume when it comes to beer bottles.

I liked this one - normal strength 'lager', but with a stronger and fuller flavour than its average Danish counterpart.

I did not drink it all in one go, by the way, but spread it over several meals.

The brewery has existed since before the civil war, and I think it is going to be around for many years to come!

We also tried some red wine, and as far as I remember it was very nice (everything tastes good with all that fresh air sunshine, but I would have remembered if it was off).

White wine from Germany, well cooled, very nice!

This one is very nice, too! Highly recommendable. Serve well cooled!

More 'local' stuff, 1½ liters! I liked it!

We also took an evening trip to Malgrat de Mar (the camping is situated just on the outskirts of town), and this sightseeing 'train' was one of the first things we noticed.

Who would not want to sit in that chair?

The main pedestrian street of Malgrat. The mediteranean atmosphere is undeniable!

The rest of the family got their feet picked by fish.

An evening impression. I am still absolute shit at taking pictures in the dark, really need to take a class or something...

To coclunde a fine vacation day, we had a nice dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Vacation 2015 - Day 10

The last full day at the camping was used for relaxation - and the midday heat was best avoided by the kids in the trailer, resorting to intellectual activity.

We had been to a store in Sottomarina, and I had got a couple of Italian beers, so I spent some of the afternoon tasting them.

Once again, I was pleasantly surprised, as Italian beer is not something we hear a lot about in Denmark.

This rather large bottle of relatively strong double-malt beer from Peroni almost made me fall asleep sitting in a chair in the front awning.

Very good taste, but probaly better consumed in connection with a meal of some sort.

Well, I enjoyed it thoroughly!

The second course in this untimely drinking feast was another ½ liter's worth of slightly less strong brew from Moretti.

This one tasted even better, although none of them, in my opinion, beats the Moretti La Rossa Malto Brunito double-malt I bought on our second day in Sottomarina.

For the sake of completeness, I include the back label of the La Rossa beer (the red one down below).

And, as it was a lazy day, I did not take any more photos, as nothing interesting really happened.

Vacation 2015 - Days 5 and 6.

I do not have much to  tell about our first couple of days in Italy.

After crossing the Brenner Pass, on day 4 (Saturday), we drove down to Bolzano/Bozen where we spent the late afternoon and night at LernCamping Moosbauer, and the girls, of course, spent most of the time there in the pool.

Sunday was spent almost entirely on the road, and we arrived at our destination, Camping Oasis just on the outskitrs of Sottomarina, about half past four in the afternoon.

The rest of the day we set up the awning, and arranged the camping furniture within, and, of course, we had a dip in the Adriatic Sea, too.

We decided to spend the Monday mostly in the camp site, but my wife and I also took a trip into Sottomarina to withdraw some cash, and to buy some food.

Notably, I also bought some Italian beer, and I must say that all the beer I tasted in Italy was a nice surprise; I think, though, that this one is my favourite Italian beer, for now:

Good Beer - Almost as Good as Gaming!

The wife bought me xome discounted x-mas-brews when going to town to buy food today, and I had this with my lunch:

Skagen Bryghus GÃ¥rdnisse Julebryg (Skagen Brewery Farm Leprechaun/Elf X-mas Brew).

To my taste
PERFECT for the Danish lunch table (black bread with butter and all kinds of cold and luke-warm cuts and 'accessories' - accompanied by beer and aquavit/schnapps).

Beer for the Beer God!

The almost local supermarket had a sale on: Specialty beers/ales. Had to try some!
