Star Wars Legion: Empire Card Holders Ready for For First Test Game

While not necessary to play (especially when not using upgrades), I decided to print a card holder for all three units I am going to use in my first game: Darth Vader, and two squads of Stormtroopers.

I expect to get a gaming appointment with Ulolkish next week, and maybe I shall also have some stands for the Rebels ready by then (I have ordered some beige and khaki filament, but I do not think it is going to arrive until Monday).

It is still too darn hot to paint, so I focus on getting stuff printed, and playing games with my daughters at the moment...

3D Card Holder for Star Wars Legion

Yesterday, I also printed my first card holder for Star Wars Legion - by Iggymagoo on Thingiverse.

I had to print it at 2500%, as the model is tiny when opened in Cura - but as you can see, at 2500% cards with or without sleeves fit nicely.

I need to print at least two more in black (for the Imperial forces), and then three in khaki/beige (for the Rebel Alliance) - for now, but I shall have to make one for each unit I wont to field, and that will probably mean at least 10 for each faction.

Good thing that the printer works nicely and does not need constant monitoring! 😉

Card Holder for X-wing and Armada

Over a year ago, I designed this card shoe/holder for damage cards that fits FFG's 'Yellow' card sleeves exactly.

I was getting frustrated by the cards tilting and spreading, and thus made a card holder out of cardboard, but I did not like it that much, although it did get the job done, so I started dabbling in 3D-design - and now, as I have got my new Creality GR10S S3 up and running, it was time to try printing it, and you can see the result to the left (I have nor removed the 'skirt', yes, seen along the back edges).

I printed it lying on its back to avoid supports, but I am going to to make another one standing upright with supports for the 'shelf', so that I may compare the two methods.

Another Game of Euphrat & Tigris

After playing Splendor, I got my ass handed to me by Anna in our second journey to the Land between the Rivers.

Had I only joined our realms in my last turn, I could have snatched victory away from her, but I did not think clearly at that point - and you have to learn as long as you live!!

More Gaming with the Kids

Along with Star Wars Legion, I had ordered this board/card game, set in the Renaissance.

It is about gaining Prestige through Wealth... sort of.

Once again, we had a blast trying to outguess each other and thwart each other's plans.

I pulled another narrow victory, but I look forward to the whole family playing this (2-4 players in this version, expansions are available)!

Summer Holidays: Passing Time With the Kids

Some days ago, I broke out this game that I bought some years ago at a sale.

First time I tried reading the rules back then was an evening after a long, hot, sweaty day, and I got confused and put it away.

This time, though, I sat down with Anna and Lea and we played through a game after a brief overview of the rules.

Everybody quickly grasped the concepts, and we had a blast building kingdoms and fighting 'wars'.

I managed to win a narrow victory, but the girls are actually quite good at boardgames, and the next time would not be an easy walk for me!

My Printer is Working!!

The problem turned out to be the tiny screw on top of the extruder arm that was too tight.

Now I am printing an extra barricade for Star Wars Legion (just because), found here on Thingiverse.

I am as thrilled today, as I was frustrated yesterday!
