These 2 - with the one I have intact in the box, and another one I got as part of another big lot some time ago - brings my Mûmakil total to 4 (four).
I think I have to start getting them ready somewhen soonish...
The lot also included droves of Warriors of the Last Alliance, Warriors of Minias Tirith, Moria Goblins, Mordor Orcs, and some Uruk-Hai - but with the Christmas month rapidly approaching, I am forced to tidy up the dining table in the living room, so we can have our family meals there, and I have been stoving minis away in small boxes stacked inside large boxes, so no further showing stuff this time around.
Hopefully my cold will allow me to finish the Camp and Baggage bases for GoB28 tomorrow - would be nice to check yet another box on the to-do list for Horisont, with less than 2 weeks left before the event...

Struggling with the Basics.
My very bad cold (or flu, or whatever) is keeping me from doing a whole lot, except for lying on the couch, watching Sharpe, and Witches of East End, but a lot of paracetamol gives me some moments without headaches where I can fiddle a bit around.
Over the last 2 days I have managed to work a bit on the Camp and Baggage bases for GoB28, which I need to finish for Horisont VI.
I started by glueing sand on in patches (to omit warping)
The keen observer will have noticed that there's only 3 bases; the Gondorian camp will be made up from a ruined mausoleum that the Dwarves have to sack to win the scenario, so it is not strictly nescessary for me to get the second Camp base done (although I shall try to do so when I have finished these 3).
This is how they looked like with the excess sand poured off.
I then glued sand to the bare areas, let dry, and painted the entire surface with thinned down PVA glue (consistency like milk), with a little washing up liquid added. This should seal the surface into a very hard crust.
When this is dry, I'm going to paint the bases with the same browns I used for the PSZ boards, then add some patches of flock, and I'll be set to go!
I hope to be able to paint a few crates and barrels to place on the baggage bases, and maybe a tent or two for the Dwarven camp - but we'll see about that - the actual bases, the Miracle Cards, and Boromir take precedence!

The Halloween Party
I'm down with a flu or heavy cold, so not much progress to report on the gaming front - but I can just about manage half lying down on the couch with a heavy blanket to upload these pics from the Halloween party we held for our kids and their classmates:
We haven't heard anything but positive feedback, but I think we'll segregate the two age-groups next time we throw a party - in my impression, the 5th graders felt a bit 'crowded' by the 2nd graders, and they would have had even more fun without them.
Even then, I think most participants had a blast!
Argonor's Attic almost set for the party
View from the other end
Zombilea
Zombilea with friends
Vampiranna
Party on! The flash ruins the impression a bit
Limbooooo!
Vampiranna lends a helping hand
Zombilea shuffles under the broomstick
Monster-Mash!
No idea what's going on!
I like the way the flash is caught in the eyes of the little monsters!
Streamer-time!
Always room for some extra cake!
Leftovers!
Even more leftovers!
Even then, I think most participants had a blast!

Final Unit Assembled!!
The last Fiefdom Warrior unit is up to strength:
If I have time left before Horisont, after preparing an assortment of different props, I'll do something about the base of the leader, and the other four minis I didn't paint myself - but for now this will have to do!
And, yes, the leader is another Gamling model, but it's painted so differently from the other one that I can live with using two identical minis.

Last Spearman Done!
The wash did not settle quite as nicely on this one, but I really can't be arsed to do anything about it.
I've started painting Denethor, and I hope to finish him tomorrow afternoon.
Only One More to Do!
The last one is almost finished, so I hope to start painting Denethor later today (I have a day off).
I would be nice to have all the painting done by next weekendm so I can spend the last 2 weeks preparing bits and bobs for the demo/participation game.
