Vacation 2016 - Day 7, Part 6: The Empúries Museum - Part 2

For those of you who find all this old stuff boring, I apologize. I, myself, can get quite ecstatic looking at all those wonders from civilizations that went under in the making of our modern continent, so I hope you will bear with me.

Dark Ages: First Point of Viking Warriors

These were speed-painted (colour block, Agrax Earhshade wash, shield transfers from Little Big Men Studios).

Just now realized that I shall have to repaint the sleeve on the blue tunic - seems that I missed the underside with the wash... 😒 I shall have to do it, either tonight, or first thing tomorrow.

The next warriors will be added in drops of two, but I wanted a full SAGA point finished, before I started showing them, as speed-painted minis look far better in numbers than on their own.

Vacation 2016 - Day 7, Part 5: The Empúries Museum - Part 1

After walking around in the excavated ruins of the Greek city for quite a while, we sought the cool air conditioned innards of the museum.

Vacation 2016 - Day 7, Part 4: Empúries, The Greek City - Part 3

I had some practical tasks to attend to this morning, and I did not have as much time for painting as I hoped for.

Thus, I have not quite finished the first point of warriors for my SAGA Viking warband (although I am close to doing so), and I feel confident that it will be done tomorrow (and that I shall begin work on the next).

In the meantime, I offer you some more photos from last summer's vacation.

The museum is situated between the old, Greek, city, and the newer Roman settlement (built higher up the slope, no doubt to dominate the 'native' population.

Vacation 2016 - Day 7, Part 3: Empúries, The Greek City - Part 2

More photos from the Greek city. The sun was hammering down mercilessly.

The first view of the Empúries Museum - built in a style fitting the subject!

One more photo for the museum building.
