Beer for the Beer God!

The almost local supermarket had a sale on: Specialty beers/ales. Had to try some!

  1. Looks nice! Mind you, I've never heard of any of these brands so I don't know if they are any good :-) .

    1. I've started tasting, and nothing spectacular so far. The Kaiserdom Dark is very much like a stout, without the 'thickness', and the Everards Original Premium Ale is a solid run-of-the-mill ale. What I'm looking for in a specialty beer/ale is a taste that sets it apart from other products; full-bodied, and preferably with a hint of sweetness. Well, next one up for Friday (I'm working late tomorrow, so no night-cab for me).

  2. I liked the Kaisedom Hefe and Kellerbier, but the unrivalled winner of this little test is clearly the 1795 Czech dark beer. Just the right balance of bitterness and sweetness to my taste.
